Fireplace Insulation Contact


At this San Antonio area New Home Move In Inspection, the pictured deficiency was able to be photographed thru the gas line access. As seen, insulation that was not properly secured in the framed fireplace cavity at the back exterior wall had fallen against the metal box of the fireplace. Warnings on the metal  fire box can be seen that require insulation and other building materials to have at least a 1/2" clearance from the prefabricated fireplace unit to help prevent the risk of fire.
